FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How does the transport process work?
After you have submitted your paperwork and deposit to ATE, we will assign a truck for you that best meets your schedule. You will receive a call from the driver for pick up time and date. When the driver arrives to pick-up your vehicle, you will fill out an inspection form with the driver regarding the condition of your car. This same Bill of Lading will be present at the time of delivery as well. You will receive a copy of this form on both pick up and delivery. If any damages should occur within the process of transporting your vehicle, please note on the Bill of Lading at the delivery BEFORE the driver leaves.

How far in advance should I schedule my car?
You should schedule your vehicle for transport as soon as possible to insure that your car is moved in the time frame which best meets your schedule. If you need an immediate pick up, we can arrange for a pick-up within 24 hours.

How long will it take to deliver my car?
A coast to coast trip usually takes from 8-14 days from pick up time. Shorter trips can range from 3-10 days depending on the distance. Pick up and delivery dates are estimated and not guaranteed due to unforeseen events such as traffic, weather, and truck breakdowns.

What is the difference between open and enclosed transport?
An open carrier is similar to those transporting cars to and from dealerships. The vehicles moved on an open carrier are exposed to inclement weather conditions and road conditions. Cars that are moved on an enclosed transport are covered on every side during transportation. They are not exposed to weather and road conditions compared to vehicles on open trailers. Due to this advantage, enclosed transport is more costly than open transport. Enclosed carriers are recommended for classic cars, luxury cars, and any other vehicle that is not inclined for inclement weather.

What method of payment does ATE accept?
We accept Visa or Master Card (there is a 3% processing fee). We also accept money orders and cashiers checks. Paying in cash may be available in some cases.
